Making quality effective within the process – with SAP

SAP provides the necessary structure for compliant quality management.

And yet, quality often remains ineffective within the manufacturing process.
The reason is the missing connection between the system and the shopfloor.

We close this gap and make existing SAP structures operationally usable within the process — without changing them or triggering a large-scale implementation project.

Typical Initial Situation

In many SAP environments, the quality logic is properly structured:
Inspection plans are defined, characteristics are maintained, and processes are documented.

However, daily manufacturing operations often reveal a different reality:

  • Inspections are not integrated into the production flow
  • Data is generated outside the system or with delays
  • Quality and production context remain disconnected

As a result, there is no end-to-end connection between planning, execution, and feedback.

The consequence:
Quality may be documented downstream, but it is not actively controlled within the process.
Deviations become visible too late, and the quality feedback loop remains interrupted.

Producing Quality with SAP and Quality Miners Subsystem Solutions

We extend SAP where necessary to establish quality within the process.

This ensures that:

  • master data and processes remain managed in SAP
  • operational execution and data collection are enhanced where required

SAP continues to provide the required structures, while operational execution on the shopfloor is enabled through our flexible SAP subsystem solutions.

Making Quality Operational with SAP

Implementing Digital Quality Processes in SAP Environments

Our subsystem solutions are not an alternative to SAP. They extend the standard wherever process proximity and operational usability are required.

In practice, this means that central areas such as inspection planning and work planning remain managed in SAP. Specific functional areas are selectively extended or complemented through subsystem solutions.

We provide solutions for inspection planning and data flow control to automatically create drawings, work plans, inspection plans, and measurement data within SAP QM.

Measurement and process data are captured through subsystem solutions on the shopfloor and transferred into the SAP context. This can be done manually, via measurement device integration, or through automated measurement data imports.

Evaluations provide the basis for deriving concrete actions from inspection results. In case of deviations, quality notifications can be triggered automatically.

By connecting SAP standard structures with MES-based execution, quality is produced in sync with manufacturing operations. This supports requirements for traceability, documentation obligations, and compliance-related quality assurance.

Measurable Impact on Quality and Processes

  • Data collection becomes process-oriented.
  • Information is available in the right context.
  • Decisions take effect directly within the process.

Modules / Functions

For operational execution, we use specialized subsystem solutions.

These are consistently based on SAP standard structures and interfaces.
